ONE WEEK!
The last nine days have been busy. Between balancing work, health, family life, map-making, and designing the cover with my awesome brother, I’ve been slowly descending into the stressed-out madness that I think consumes all creative types when they first start putting their work out into the world. I’ve given myself some time off to relax by playing some video games and watching a few series over again. Sons of Anarchy and Game of Thrones have been my escape of choice. I’ll put these on when I work on satellite projects, like my maps or the character pages or the like.
Working on the maps has been a rewarding adventure in frustration. It makes me respect my older brother and my younger sister that much more that they can use programs like Photoshop with the deft ease they do. I’ll admit to more than once closing the program in disgust when the map I was working on looked like it had been made in MS Paint. My older brother was an invaluable resource in waking me through different procedures while I was learning the ropes.
I think I’ve killed my keyboard… writing three full drafts of my novel on it over the last two years, as well as a good amount of gaming has left several sections of the keyboard a little glitchy (I’m looking at you, O, P, and B!). It’ll need to be replaced before I make any significant progress on the sequel. Surprisingly, though, both my E key and my comma key are both functioning well. What with my raging comma fetish, that is a feat in and of itself.
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to devote any real time to this website, which is a shame. Once this novel is live and up and done to the point where I can relax a little, I’m going to finish the People of Erde section, and move on to expanding the Rising Thunder Cast a bit more. I also hope to pick back up a chainmaille project that has lain dormant for far too long (since May of 2014!).
Well, it’s time to go get the kids from school, so I’m going to wrap this up. I hope that you enjoy my book once it goes live!
